Was ich anbiete

Throughout my academic career, I have supervised numerous clinical and basic science doctoral students and PhD candidates, accompanying them along different career paths. In addition, I have worked as supervisor and lecturer at both university and non-university research institutions (Medical University of Vienna, University of Vienna, Technical University of Vienna, Ludwig Boltzmann Institute, FH Technikum Wien, and FH Campus Wien), which has allowed me to gain insight into a wide range of scientific disciplines and research cultures.

Based on this experience, I would like to support doctoral and PhD students during their dissertation phase, assisting them with scientific, organizational, and interpersonal matters. Furthermore, I can provide insights into everyday academic life and the diversity of research careers, and, where appropriate, offer support with career-related decision-making.

Within the mentoring framework, the focus will be on discussing everyday questions, addressing potential challenges at an early stage, and talking through future perspectives and career goals.

Was ich von den Studierenden erwarte

  • Willingness to actively contribute to the mentoring group
  • An ideal group size of 3–6 participants

Zeitliche Vorgaben für Treffen

  • Once per month, approximately 1–2 hours
  • At the research facilities (Anna Spiegel 2) of the Department of Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery, or alternatively off-site or remotely
  • Time to be arranged by mutual agreement

Was ich sonst noch sagen möchte

Organizational aspects:

  • Topics are generally agreed upon at the beginning of the mentoring program
  • Initiatives, questions, and expectations should be developed jointly
  • Current issues will be addressed as they arise

About me:

As a biologist, I specialize in tissue regeneration using cell therapy and tissue engineering, as well as biophysical therapies. In both basic and translational research, the primary focus of my work is the clinical applicability of research outcomes.
