Why become a PhD Mentor
As a PhD mentor, your commitment in supporting early-career researchers plays a vital role in shaping the next generation of scientists. While your primary motivation may come from your mentees' progress and success, mentoring also offers valuable benefits for your own professional development:
- Expand your academic and professional network
- Strengthen your advisory and leadership competencies
- Engage in meaningful exchange and collaboration with motivated young researchers
- Your mentoring is credited as a teaching assignment (1 SWS per semester)
