What else I would like to say
I am a computer scientist by training. I completed my bachelor and master at the University of Zagreb, Croatia. I completed my PhD at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain where I specialized in medical image analysis. After graduation I did a postdoc at the University of Iowa, US, specializing in AI/ML for retinal image analysis. I joined MedUni Wien in 2015, where in an interdisciplinary environment of the Department of Ophthalmology I advanced AI methods for retinal optical coherence tomography (OCT). Since 2021 I have been leading the Christian Doppler Lab for Artificial Intelligence in Retina and in 2024 I took up a tenure-track Assistant Professorship for Medical Image Computing at the AI Institute, Center for Medical Data Science.
