What I offer
I see mentoring as a wonderful chance to support colleagues in their personal growth and to help them unfold their full potential. What excites me most is the opportunity to share experiences, spark motivation, and open up new perspectives.
What I bring to the table:
- Personal insights from my own career journey – what has worked for me, what I can recommend, and what truly drives me
- A look behind the scenes of basic research (both intellectually and at the Anna Spiegel building)
- Stories and learnings from clinical work at the AKH and other hospitals
- First-hand experience across different roles: full-time PhD, Postdoc, AKH resident physician, resident training in periphery hospitals, triple track, entrepreneur, coach
- Lessons learned from the startup world
- Tools and concepts from the field of personal development (including Dale Carnegie coaching; Deep Transformational Coaching)
- And not least: perspectives and experiences from life as a proud father of two
I believe mentoring is about inspiring each other, building confidence, and growing together – and I’m excited to be part of that journey.
I offer also the topic "Studying with a child".
What I expect from the students
I hope for openness and honesty, as well as a genuine willingness to grow and learn from one another
Time constraints for meetings
Flexible structure – tailored to what works best!
What has proven most effective is meeting about once a month (online, in person, or a mix of both), with sessions spread throughout the year.
I suggest to have meetings at least once a month at a duration of 2hours but more regular meetings are very welcome from my side.
Even more important to me, however, is being truly available for my mentees: I’m happy to stay in touch informally anytime – whether by messenger, phone, or email – so that questions, ideas, or challenges don’t have to wait until the next scheduled meeting.
What else I would like to say
I truly believe that we grow through our challenges – they are what shape us and help us unlock our potential. I’m excited to discover and grow together with you on this journey.
