What I offer

The content of the program should be defined by the needs of each participant.  It could include the following topics:

•          First-hand insights into translational and basic research

•          Information regarding the PhD program

•          Work-life balance

•          Organisation on stays abroad (study or research)

•          … Any suggestion is always welcome

What I expect from the students

Time constraints for meetings

The schedule of the meeting is flexible and will occur once a month. Depending on the needs of the different group members, meetings could take place in groups or individually. 

What else I would like to say

I am a postdoc at the Department of Pathology (MedUni Vienna) where I have completed my PhD focusing on the role of LAMP-2 in macroautophagy. My bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences completed at the University of Namur (Belgium), raised my interest in translational research. It was further followed by a Master's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular, and Cell Biology completed both in Belgium and in the UK (Centre for Inflammation Research, Queen’s Medical Research Institute, The University of Edinburgh, UK). In the course of my career, I have worked in different institutions and I have learned about the challenge of moving and working abroad as well as of pursuing a career while having a family. Scientific research can be great fun, although it can sometimes be a tricky path with constant new challenges to be solved. I would be happy to share my experience but also to learn from students enthusiastic about sciences and research.
